The worst is behind me…

March 1, 2008

Finance class….is officially dead.  You might be comforted to know that it passed peacefully.   It’s no longer in pain.  And it left a fairly hefty inheritance.

I felt fairly confident at the beginning of this class that I would be finishing it with a less than passing grade.  Considering that in a Masters Degree you have to get a B or better for it to be considered passing…I had reason to be nervous.  Even the CFO at my place of employment informed me that this was the only class he ever received a D in.  I knew I was pretty much screwed….

I pulled through it though.  I’m not gonna tell my CFO…but I even managed to do it with an A.  I don’t think he will be impressed….you’d have to know this guy to really understand why that is.

My office mate was out all week traveling with the OCCU senior group.  It was much quieter and much more productive from my seat.  Yesterday in honor of it being Leap Day I dressed up as a frog and visited a few of the senior management offices down my hall.  I think being cooped up all week by myself took a toll on me professionally.  I got a few giggles…some questioned looks…..and a crap ton of photos taken by cell phones.  I won’t share the evidence…just imagine the humility I bestowed upon myself.

This morning Toph left for Chicago…and soon after he will leave for Colorado.  I will be here at home throwing a 25th wedding anniversary party for my parents and starting two new classes.  Human Resources Management and International Business. A lot of paper writing….absolutely NO stock equations.  Huzzah!

That was my week.  On to the next!

p.s. if you are in the need for a new artist check out Leona Lewis.  intersting rhythms and lyrics on Bleeding Love.  plus she’s a Brit.  so it can’t be bad!

Hmmm, I think you have some Brit issues child 🙂

I was a little scared at the beginning of your post, but congratulations on your class – yay!! I’m so proud of you!

And for some reason the frog thing doesn’t really surprise me that much, but I would have loved to have seen it. I knew I should’ve run to the bank yesterday! Love you!
